Originally Pulished May 26, 2016

Back in 1986, Bob and Linda White would sometimes wonder if their idea of starting a bookstore at Seaside was such a good idea. Fast forward to 2016 and any doubters have long since become believers as Sundog Books clips right along. The couple, surrounded by customers, employees and their latest Sundog dog “Glover,” celebrated their 30th year in business Saturday, April 30, 2016…the day fittingly coincided with Independent Bookstore Day.

Man Eating Shark Spotted in South Walton! [With Photo]

Warning! The photo may be too graphic for some viewers. Today in Grayton Beach around noon we captured this horrific image of a man eating shark. The attack was gruesome and proved to be fatal for the shark. The type of shark is unknown.

The shark was grilled and served on a Kaiser Roll. French Fries was the side dish. The staff at SoWal.com hope you are having a great April Fool's Day!

Nick’s on the Bay Still Fresh After Fifty Years

Nick’s on the Bay (aka Nick's in the Sticks) is famous for having the freshest seafood around.

They get all of their mullet, crab, shrimp, and flounder right out of the Choctawhatchee Bay and the gulf. The gulf provides an endless supply of fish right off the boat. The Nick family takes pride in serving the finest seafood - not worried about how pretty they can put crab on top of grouper, but ensuring that it’s the freshest and tastiest grouper you will ever have.
