Adopt a rubber duck and join in a day of family fun at the third annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta benefiting the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild. On Saturday, Oct. 12, approximately 4,000 ducks will begin their race across the Lagoon at the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Prizes will be awarded to the owners of the first ducks to cross the finish line, including a $5,000 first place prize!
Coming this September to Williams Backyard Boogie is the first annual fundraiser for Arts in Medicine program at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The event will feature the sounds of our very own “true story” cowboy - Bryan Kennedy, Vermont’s Green Mountain Girl - Stephanie Lynn, and the award winning area favorite - the Forrest Williams Band. There will be added preshow antics and improv by the Emerald Coast Theater Company, raffle items donated by local artists and food plates provided by Grayton Beach Catering.
The 2013-2014 season marks Sinfonia’s eighth year of innovative musical programming as the region’s only fully professional symphony orchestra. The Seaside REP Theatre presents Romantic Fools, consisting of 12, two-character comedies examining love, lust, dating, and romance — from a date with a caveman (Find Me a Primitive Man) to the joys of dull sex (One Man’s Secret Desire) to the surprise frustrations of having a perfect mate (The Stepford Guy).
With influences of Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, Jules Feiffer, the Marx Brothers, and classic vaudeville comedy, these sketches vary in style but all celebrate the inherent comedy of male-female relationships.
Taste of The Beach is uncorking its 2013 lineup and the three-day event kicks off with Vine to Wine - A Wine Preview on August 23 at Seascape Resort's ballroom from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Gulf Place is hosting its monthly Third Thursday Wine Walkabout on Thursday, August 15 from 5-7pm. Beginning in the Artists at Gulf Place green, visitors are given a merchant map of all the retail stores and restaurants involved in the walkabout and a glass of wine. The stores at Gulf Place stay open a few hours later than normal and attendees are invited to shop and socialize all while enjoying some very fabulous varieties of wine and food! Visitors indulge in tasting seasonal wines from around the world and tasty hors d’oeuvres at each stop on the walkabout.

On Friday August 23 Harbor Docks will host the 28th annual Caddy Shack Classic Charity Golf Tournament at Emerald Bay Golf Club. The tournament has a scramble format. Registration begins at noon at Emerald Bay Golf Club with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost is $500 per team or $125 per golfer. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Mulligans, closest to the pin, long drives, and other contests can be entered at the course for donations. More than $300,000 has been raised since the tournament’s inception.
