Baytowne Art Walk returns to The Village of Baytowne Wharf this Labor Day Weekend on September 4-6 from 5-10 pm each day in the Events Plaza. This year's Art Walk will include local and regional artists as well as interactive art for children and a great lineup of live music.
The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College announces the fall session of its award winning eco-tourism initiative, Discover Roads Less Traveled: Eco-Adventures of Walton County.
“CBA’s eco-tours are intended to bring participants to local, off the beaten path environmental wonders,” states CBA’s eco-tour coordinator, Brandy Foley. “We hope that these tours will entice individuals to experience our local environment from a different perspective.”
The 4th Annual Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run returns to Alys Beach on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in South Walton, Florida. Located along Scenic 30A, the course winds through the resort town and ends with an oversized obstacle course for kids of all ages. A celebration of awards and more fun with music, food, and beverages will follow the race in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre.
It's always a great party and it's for a great cause - raising funds every year for one of our favorite local organizations - Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN). They see to it that all children in our area receive needed medical and dental care. We're thrilled Bud & Alley’s will be hosting the 11th Annual Hurricane Party again this year. The Hurricane Party will take place on Friday, Sept. 25 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting CVHN.
The fifth annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta benefiting the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild takes sail on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
Coming up Thursday, July 16 is the last YOLO Board Relay for the season at The Bay. Everyone's invited to join the 8th Annual YOLO Board Relay Series at The Bay restaurant on the beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay. The relay event begins at 4:30 p.m.and will include race relays, giveaways, refreshments and fun activities for kids.
Easy On 30A benefit concert is back for its fourth year to raise money for great causes. The free, family-friendly concert will take place on Friday, July 3 from 5:45 - 10:00 p.m. at WaterColor's Marina Park. Performers include Forrest Williams Band, The Rips, and Geoff McBride. Fabulous raffle and silent auction items donated by local businesses will benefit Alaqua Animal Refuge, the Lighthouse Family Retreat, and the Muscogee Nation of Florida.
This July, All Kinds of Art, an educational outreach program of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, presents Kamp Kellywamba, a visual and performing arts summer camp offering theatre, art, dance, and set design classes for youth. This year’s camp features a fun and festive 1950’s theme.
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a wonderful place to explore any day of the year. You'll love taking advantage of some of the weekly events at the park this summer. What a great way to get out and explore one of South Walton's most beautiful coastal areas directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park admission fees are waived for Summer 2015.
