Each year the fun begins at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach as folks roll out of bed and into their trucks, jeeps, and boats to parade around the town.

The beach means summer and the best of summer in SoWal is during 4th of July week. There is so much fun and fireworks everywhere you turn, in every beach town. All along South Walton Beaches is an all-American celebration every year during the first week of July. Parades, flags, watermelon and music blend perfectly with beautiful beaches and happy families.

The 27th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival was held April 18 - 21, 2013. The Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf brings an opportunity for discovery. Four days of unique events open up a wide range of experiences from attending wine dinners with celebrity chefs, participating in preview events throughout the year, and taking part in wine tastings that showcases hundreds of wines.

The Grayton Beach Kids Fishing Tournament is so much fun - for kids and parents. It's a joy to see the kids so excited. There's nothing like seeing a kid hook their first fish. The South Walton Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association held the 7th annual edition April 13, 2013.

Look for next year's tourney - It's just $5 to enter and the first 100 kids receive a rod and reel combo, bait and tackle, and beach rod holder.

This year's Seaside Community Yard Sale on Feb. 9, 2013 was the biggest yet. The event happens every Spring and Fall - you never know what you might find.

Dogs and owners gathered on December 9 from 1-4pm for the 2nd Annual Rosemary Beach Unleashed Community Festival presented by Rosemary Beach Foundation and sponsored by SoWal.com.

Each year, Santa arrives in Seaside on the firetruck leading the South Walton Holiday parade. He makes a grand entrance and then "turns on the town" - flipping the switch to light up the town's Christmas decorations. This year, the Coleman Pavilion was lit with 4,500 white lights.

Now In its sixth year, Cottages for Kids, presented by SoWal.com and benefiting Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN), debuted five designer Cottages in Rosemary Beach for the month of November. The cottages will be open for tours on weekends plus Thanksgiving Day through November 24  in East Long Green on Scenic 30A. It's right in the center of town and you can't miss it.
