The coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating impact on America's arts sector. The new Red Bar opened on July 15, 2020 for lunch 11-3 and dinner 4:30-10! Our beloved Red Bar was destroyed in an early morning fire on February 13, 2019. The Red Bar reconstruction is complete! SEE The Red Bar Live Webcam >
Important: Parking has been closed to non-residents in Grayton Beach so you should park in the county parking lot 200 yards north of Scenic 30A on Hwy 283 and take the free shuttle to the Red Bar.
All South Walton backyards can be a gathering place for birds, butterflies, frogs, squirrels and many more types of local wildlife.
Warning! The photo may be too graphic for some viewers. Today in Grayton Beach around noon we captured this horrific image of a man eating shark. The attack was gruesome and proved to be fatal for the shark. The type of shark is unknown.
The shark was grilled and served on a Kaiser Roll. French Fries was the side dish. The staff at SoWal.com hope you are having a great April Fool's Day!
The rest of the globe is catching on to what we already know. That South Walton is one of the most special places on the planet!
Our beach community has been selected as one of the 28 Best Places to Visit in 2019, according to National Geographic Traveler’s editors and explorers.
Bud & Alley's Waterfront Restaurant located on Scenic 30A overlooking the Gulf in Seaside, has again won the state’s highest culinary honor, Florida Trend Magazine's Golden Spoon Hall of Fame Award.
In an effort to mitigate storm effects and maintain its beaches in the best possible condition, Seaside is restoring and re-nourishing its coastal sand dunes.
This approach will further develop Seaside’s long-term preservation and resiliency strategy to protect the landscape and maintain the native ecosystems. Its implementation will provide natural, enduring and future protection with no adverse effect to adjacent coastal areas.
