It's always a beach day in SoWal and that means it's time to hit the sand! But first, here's the latest SoWal List, and in this edition we've lined up some great places for you to get your gear on.

South Walton fashion has changed so much over the years. Bathing suits and flip flops may always be the most popular ensemble, but make no mistake - fashion has officially moved into SoWal and taken a front seat.

The upscale shops around town are offering lines you find in big cities, as well as shoes and jewelry to boot. No longer are we on the back burner for fashion, instead we are at the starting line with our pumps on. This SoWal List was so fun to research. We tried on clothes, swiped our plastic, and came away with some amazing threads.
 

The best gifts are found at the beach! South Walton has lots of wonderful products and services that will make someone you know very happy. Head out for a shopping adventure at some of our favorite shops and shopping destinations. We enjoy discovering the freshest and most interesting foods whether its produce, cheese, wines, olive oils, seafood, baked goods or specialty foods. SoWal food shopping options are expanding in ways that make us thrilled to be able to shop local. Tasty, healthful and fresh foods can now be found at a number of locally owned markets, health foods stores, and gourmet/specialty shops.

With excellent stores like Anthropologie and Pottery Barn, Grand Boulevard’s retail mix is aligning nicely with their established dining scene. Wide shaded walkways, lush greens and stone facades will have you looking for excuses to visit, and there are plenty. Like Happy Hour, for instance.

Art is personal. Each of us has our own tastes. We all are moved by different artists with different visions and styles. South Walton is a place that inspires and motivates. Our local artists draw great creativity from our environment. No matter what the inspiration, or specific subject, the beauty of South Walton energizes the artistic spirit.

It's Seaside's 30th Anniversary. The small SoWal beach town kicked off the new urbanist movement and has hosted generations of families. Kids are now bringing their kids. Our hearts are firmly rooted in the tree-lined streets bordered by white picket fences.

There's not a much better place to spend a vacation, or just an afternoon. The southern sea breeze carries the pleasant smell of garlic and rosemary from the gulf front restaurants and the central square smells like southern barbecue.
