Sinfonia Gulf Coast Presents Tchaikovsky X Drake May 17

Sinfonia Gulf Coast will conclude its 2024-2025 season with a unique and innovative performance, Tchaikovsky X Drake, on Saturday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the Destin–Fort Walton Beach Convention Center. 

This genre-defying concert fulfills Sinfonia's mission to entertain, educate, and inspire by reimagining Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 through the music of Aubrey “Drake” Graham.

Conceived and arranged by the acclaimed Steve Hackman, this work artfully integrates 22 of Drake’s popular tracks, including "God’s Plan" and "In My Feelings," with the rich orchestration of Tchaikovsky's symphony. The resulting experience offers a musically compelling and emotionally resonant symphonic journey.

Featured guest artists include vocalists India Carney, Mario Jose, and Denise Carite, alongside rapper Jecorey “1200” Arthur, bassist Braylon Lacy, and percussionist Gabriel Globus-Hoenich. The concert will be conducted by David Baker, a distinguished conductor and arranger known for his work across classical and contemporary genres.
