National women’s retailer Anthropologie is now open in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, joining recently opened men’s and women’s retailers Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines. All three stores are located in the new Center building, located on the west side of Grand Boulevard, across from the Boulevard 10 Cinema.
The Market Shops in Miramar Beach will host the inaugural Cattle Barons' Pig Roast benefitting American Cancer Society on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. It's a pig pickin' with cold drinks and live music on the lawn as a way of saying thanks for all of your support. CAA's first member artist co-op gallery to open May 23 in The Market Shops! The Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) of Walton County announces the opening of the Foster Gallery, a CAA member artist co-op gallery located in The Market Shops next to DIG Eatery and the new Ben & Jerry's. Twelve artists will be chosen to exhibit and work in the gallery during the Summer 2016 exhibit, May 23 - August 26.

This past June, owner Risa Priestly decided to move her shop from a 3,000 sq. ft. cottage to a 12,000 sq. ft. Mediterranean-inspired showplace. On a rainy Thursday morning I was dripping as I dashed inside 30A Songwriter Radio, SoWal's newest coffee shop. Owners Shannon Ireland and Josette Rhodes dreamed up their music cafe and piece by piece it came together. It’s no surprise that since opening this month, local musicians have flocked to the new stomping ground next to South Walton Publix on Hwy 98.
30Avenue in Inlet Beach continues to add quality dining and shopping with several local businesses opening new locations or moving existing operations to the upscale destination. Shimmering Seas Jewlery and Gifts is the most recent SoWal retailer to take up residence at 30Avenue, located on US Hwy 98 just north of Rosemary Beach, at the eastern end of Scenic 30A.
In our area, we are fortunate to have two premier beach destinations that merge almost seamlessly together. While they are neighbors, each offers a unique experience. The remarkable communities of which we speak are, of course, South Walton and Destin.
South Walton is comprised of a varied collection of “towns” that nestle predominantly along Scenic Highway 30A. Each offers their own interpretation of a life well lived by the beach.
