When the staff lunches, it's time for us to check in with our partners, talk about upcoming plans, and just catch up. Last Friday Lisa and I decided to pop into Local Catch to see what’s new.

If you can tear your gaze away from the view, textural artwork by Justin Gaffrey and an open Chef’s kitchen are a feast for the senses. The menu itself is a sensory experience, ever changing, ever creative, ever delicious.

We love the snow-white quartz sands of SoWal beaches that squeak when we walk on them with bare feet, the emerald green and turquoise waters of the Gulf; a bay pregnant with fish and oysters; the delta of the Choctawhatchee River; our 18,000 acres of forest, parks and preserves; plus our unique coastal dune lakes that make South Walton one of the most desirable places on earth to live and visit.

Sowal is blessed to have access to some of the best seafood in the country, and our plump, salty, luscious oysters are among the finest in the world. Most come from Apalachicola Bay but when conditions aren't perfect there we get them in from Texas. Eat them raw on a Saltine cracker or delicately baked with gourmet ingredients.
